Who will I see there?
You will fit in at Scarborough Citadel. We have a diverse congregation so if you're young or old, male or female, new to Canada or have lived here your whole life you belong here.
What should I wear?
Church is more relaxed than it used to be. Some people dress up but others wear casual clothes. At Scarborough Citadel you'll also see some people in a Salvation Army uniform. You don't have to wear one to attend or belong but some people do.
How long is it?
The service lasts about 75 minutes. Afterwards you're invited to join us for coffee or tea and a cookie in foyer. It's a time to hang out and get to know one another.
What's the atmosphere?
Upbeat, joyful! We like to sing and have both brass band and guitars & drums to accompany us.
Sincere, thoughtful. There is time to hear from the Bible and consider what it meant and what it means for us today
What about kids & teens?
We love kids and teens! Infants are welcome to gurgle and chatter in our services, but if you'd feel more comfortable we have a nursery room where you can let them play while listening to the service
Part way through the worship time kids kindergarten-grade 6 are invited to leave for "Promiseland" (a time of learning and fun.)
After the sermon teens (grade 7-12) are invited to leave for Jr. Sermon Club where they discuss the topic of the day in an informal atmosphere.
