Program Name

Description

MUSIC
Angel Choir This is an introduction to singing as a a group - kids spend a half hour singing familiar songs as well as preparing simple songs for occasional performances. Open to all children from the corps or from the community, ages 3-6 years.
Baby Song This is a fun-filled half hour of music for infants and toddlers - singing action songs, using small rhythm instruments and moving to the music. Open to all infants and toddlers from the corps or from the community, aged 0-36 months.
Band The Scarborough Citadel Band ministers musically during worship services here at Scarborough Citadel, as well as occasional special performances at local events. Those performing with the group must have a relationship with Christ, and live a lifestyle reflecting Salvation Army standards.
Beginners Band This is an introduction to playing a brass instrument (cornet, horn, baritone, etc.)  Kids are taught the basics of instrumental technique and theory, and learn to play pieces for occasional performance. Open to all children ages 7 years and over from the corps or from the community.
Junior Band This is where children who know how to play a brass instrument further their skills and learn to play music for performances at our church (as well as occasional special engagements outside our church). Open to all children ages 7 years and over from the corps or from the community.
Singing Company Our children’s choir – kids learn the basics of vocal technique and prepare songs for performance at our church (and occasional special performances outside our church). Open to all children ages 7 years and over from the corps or from the community.
Songsters / Worship Team The Songsters and Worship Team minister vocally (as a church choir) during worship services here at Scarborough Citadel, as well as occasional special performances at local events. Those performing with the group must have a relationship with Christ, and live a lifestyle reflecting Salvation Army standards. Rehearsals are open to all.
EDUCATION
Bible Studies An opportunity for adults to delve into the word of God and join together in prayer. No requirements necessary, just a desire to learn more about the Bible – all are welcome!
Junior Action Not available at this time.
Ladies Bible Study A weekly Bible study for women, exploring a variety of topics related to the Christian experience. Open to all ladies from the church and community.
Library The Corps library contains about 5,000 volumes on many subjects. Seventy Percent of the books are on religious subjects and the rest are on mixed subjects plus novels.
Promiseland Our Sunday School program takes place during our regular worship services.  Children leave the service and have their own program of Bible education and worship.  They receive large-group instruction (object lessons and singing) and also spend time in smaller, age-based groups. Available to all children from JK to Grade 6.  Visitors and newcomers are welcome to attend.
Teen Bible Study A place for teenagers to come together and learn more about the word of God, strengthen the bonds of friendship and engage in thoughtful discussion about their faith and The Salvation Army. Open to all young people between the ages of 12-18 – all are welcome!
FELLOWSHIP
Bowling The Scarborough Citadel Bowling League was launched in 1986 to provide a special activity for adults who enjoy bowling, who are available during the day on a regular weekly basis and are looking for fun and fellowship. Weekly lane fee of $7 for two games, and an annual membership fee of $15 to cover expenses during the season.
Home League This is a fellowship group for ladies of all ages.  A variety of topics will be explored each week, including Bible study, special speakers, and fellowship opportunities. All ladies are welcome!

Ladies Coffee Hour A monthly gathering of ladies from our church and others in the area.  Come and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and listen guest speakers and special music. Open to all ladies from the church and community.
Seniors Fellowship The Scarborough Citadel Seniors’ Fellowship provides opportunity for seniors to come together to enjoy some relaxation and fellowship.  Each week a program offers fun, spiritual insights and information relating to seniors. Open to all seniors interested and available!
Teen Drop In (TDI) A program with lots of variety, intended to provide the youth of our church with an opportunity to come together, make friends, and explore spiritual issues. Open to all teens from the church and the community.
Thursday Night Out This is a fellowship opportunity – and a good way to explore the restaurants in the area!  A chance to catch up with friends, meet new people, and enjoy Christian conversation. Payment for dinner is an individual responsibility.
