You are invited to our "CONVERSATION CLASS".
You can practise speaking English and improve your pronunciation. Different topics are discussed each week. It's also a great opportunity to make new friends. An opportunity to make friends and practice English-speaking skills. ----- A variety of different topics are discussed each week.

When:

Tuesday evenings, 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Where:

At Scarborough Citadel, in the office

Requirements:

Open to all adults from the church and the community

Adult volunteers will have excellent English-speaking skills, and the desire to make new friends.

Special Note:

In the Toronto area there are many free English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) classes. Two main providers are School Boards and LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada).
Despite excellent teaching, ESL students have expressed two main concerns:

Most of the classes are daytime so they can't attend when they get jobs.
The classes are usually large, so there is limited opportunity to practice oral English.

English Conversation Class (ECC) is an informal setting where people can practice speaking and improve their pronunciation. Those who teach or facilitate do not necessarily need to be qualified teachers. Rather they will be people who enjoy people and who enjoy talking and speaking English accurately.
